Rototuna School Gymnasium, Hamilton Turfrey Roofing 3,400m2
Turfrey Roofing carrying out 3,400m2 of Roof Logic Warm Roofing System to new Rototuna School Gymnasium.
The development plan for Rototuna Junior and Senior High School has been long-awaited by the Hamilton Community and is now coming to fruition fairly quickly. The two-stage building project started with the year 7-10 Junior School opening in February 2016 and the year 11-13 Senior School will be completed for the arrival of students for the 2017 school year.
The two schools will share a site between the proposed expressway and West Park Road, off Borman Road, Hamilton.
The school is to attain a 5 Star Green Building Rating. Endorsing recycling by repurposing rainwater as well as will harvest maximum natural ventilation and lighting.
The interior will be designed and constructed to create modern learning environments.
This combined Junior and Senior High school represents the largest new school build in 30 years, with a floor area of approximately 1800m² which spreads across 2 levels on a site space of 25 acres.
The building structure of steel portal and concrete is combined with a modular prefabricated approach, where some parts of the build are created off-site and brought to site, ensuring the programme is on track if not ahead of schedule. Also this methodology allows interior and exterior trades to progress earlier.
