If you use SH2 or trains between Lower Hutt and Wellington you are about to witness a large greenfield site in Petone be transformed by Armstrong Downes Commercial from an empty industrial space into an impressive national campus and headquarters for ARISE Church.
Officially 2 Pito-One Road, Korokoro, the construction of The ARISE Centre includes a 2687m² auditorium and office facility as the hub of the campus – housing head office staff, hosting functions, as well as delivering educational programmes for their national congregation. The Centre is part of ARISE Church’s rapid growth in New Zealand and will set a model for their future campuses elsewhere throughout the country.
The ground floor will consist of a large auditorium seating 1214 people, to be used for church services and events. There is a 400m² children’s facility, 500m² foyer, connect lounge for new members, 400m² exterior plaza and a beautifully landscaped outdoor area. Level One will be an L shaped mezzanine, boasting a comfortable staff hub, open plan work areas, 4 modern meeting rooms and atrium space. For convenience a car park will be asphalted with 240 spaces. Once built, the entire campus will be an outstanding showcase for the ARISE Church.
As the funding for the build is through donations careful consideration has been placed on ensuring all materials and methods used are cost effective and efficient. Precast Stahlton flooring will be used for the mezzanine floor and bathrooms will be a standard fit-out. Concrete block will be used for the rear two walls to ensure strength and simplicity of design.
Armstrong Downes Commercial is working closely with BBC Architects Ltd who have produced the architectural impressions shown.
