Brad Turfrey
Brad TurfreyManaging Director
Brad oversees the general development and direction of the company, including strategy, financial performance and growth. Planning and ensuring Turfrey continues to attract top skilled tradespeople with a focus on best practice and quality is his priority, along with building and fostering strong and enduring client relationships. Brad is a Certifying Plumber and Gasfitter and has worked in the construction industry for more than 10 years.

Bruce Turfrey
Bruce TurfreyDirector
Bruce founded the company in 1973 and as Managing Director for 35 years, built a reputation as the leading Central Hawke’s Bay service provider as well as carrying out specific projects across the North Island. In 2013 Bruce stepped back from running the company, and now also from the day to day operations whilst maintaining a directorship. Bruce is a Certifying Plumber & Drainlayer and has extensive industry experience.

Rich Hutchinson
Rich HutchinsonGeneral Manager
Rich plays a key role in the overall running of the company including heading up and managing the estimating team and ensuring revenue targets are met across the range of business units. His extensive technical and management background in the plumbing, roofing & heating industries has seen him working for clients in both the private and public sectors for more than 20 years. Rich is also a Licensed Gasfitter.

Thomas Turfrey
Thomas TurfreyOperations Manager
Thomas is responsible for the control and efficiency of the company’s general operations across all regions, services, commercial claims, project management and resource planning. Thomas joined Turfrey in 2013 after gaining a degree in accounting and taxation law. This has strengthened the company’s focus on strong financial performance and accountability to our customers at all levels.

Sara Fothergill
Sara FothergillFinancial Controller
Sara’s key responsibilities include producing financial reports, direct investment activities, and developing strategies and plans for the long-term goals of the business. Sara manages cashflow, oversees the administration team that process debtors and creditors, GST, monthly financial reporting, and payroll. Sara has a strong background in accounts and administration combined with an education in taxation and accounting.

Tim O'Leary
Tim O'LearyCommercial Manager
Tim’s strategic role in the business involves forward resource planning, recruitment, training and internal communication. A strong focus for Tim is efficient and effective business administration and constant reviewing of process. Tim held a previous role as Business Development Manager at at a large steel exporter as well as other industry roles both in NZ and overseas. Tim has in depth knowledge of operations including targets, forecasting cost analysis and business strategy.

Polly Jones
Polly JonesMarketing Manager
Polly has strong knowledge and experience from a varied background in education, customer service & sales & marketing. As part of the Turfrey Marketing role, Polly works across the group to develop sales strategy, product development and client relationships with a strong focus on customer retention and ensuring the Turfrey brand and message is conveyed clearly.

Sam Brown

Sam gained strong construction industry experience in different roles through his career in the flooring sector as a qualified installer and owner operator, and then the retail sector starting with sales and moving up into management. Sam has worked for some of NZ’s leading firms in the construction industry and has learnt how to effectively understand customers’ needs and provide the best possible service in a timely fashion.

Alex Jarvis
Alex JarvisRoofing Manager
Alex manages the Roofing operations in the wider Hawke’s Bay area. This involves careful planning and coordination of all projects to ensure they are completed on time and to budget. For Alex and the roofing team it is vital that the client is informed throughout and that the team are all focused on the end result. This enables Turfrey to consistently deliver outstanding results for our clients.

Keith Ledword
Keith LedwordPlumbing Manager
Keith has many years experience in the commercial and domestic plumbing industry, having gained vast knowledge and experience of reading and understanding building plans, discussing alternative solutions and designs with architects, clients and main contractors and implementing these changes. Keith has a great eye for detail and excellent product knowledge in the plumbing and gas industry. He has held previous roles in the plumbing industry as a Company Director, Plumber/Gasfitter & Plumbing Manager.

Kirsty Dickinson
Kirsty DickinsonRoofing Contracts Admin
Kirsty supports the Roofing teams in HB with scheduling, documentation, sourcing of materials, and overall staff and customer support for all contract works. Kirsty has trade industry experience from previous admin roles for a large trade contractor servicing the North Island.

Jane Morris

Jane supports the Plumbing, Gas, Heating and Drainage teams in HB with scheduling, documentation, sourcing of materials, and overall staff and customer support for all contract works. Jane brings to Turfrey strong admin and construction trade knowledge around communication, process and efficiency as well as supporting the team to get the best results.


Tim Benbow AdipQS MNZIQS
Tim Benbow AdipQS MNZIQSManawatu Manager
Tim has many years experience in the construction industry in NZ, having started in 1996 as a quantity surveyor before quickly earning his status as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and often acted as Project Manager as well on the 5-15mil projects for Fletcher Construction. Tim has an advanced diploma in quantity surveying, NZ certificate, is a member of the NZ institute. Tim oversees the Turfrey business in the Manawatu region, including client relationships, project management, team leadership and growth and strengthening of the Turfrey business in the area.

Adam Paewai
Adam PaewaiRoofing Manager
Adam has over 25 years experience in roofing and plumbing in NZ and has been with Turfrey for over 20 years. Adam has a vast knowledge of all types of roofing ranging from flat roofs to steep pitch and tiles, Roof Logic, Membrane Roofing, Kingspan and Eurotray systems. Adam oversees numerous projects for our clients and continues to train our team with the best skills to lead the industry.

Mark Alderson

Mark has many years experience in the Manawatu commercial and domestic plumbing industry, and is a trained and licensed Plumber and Gasfitter. Mark assists the region with project management, plumbing coordination and also assists clients with Plumbing, Gas, Heating and other technical solutions and quotations.

Tayla brings to Turfrey strong admin and construction trade knowledge around communication, process and efficiency as well as supporting the team to get the best results.

Brittany van der Schyff
Brittany van der SchyffContracts Admin
Brittany supports the Roofing team in the Manawatu with documentation and processes and is one of the first points of contact for all clients who visit or phone our branch, assisting with quotes and information about our products and services and offering specialist advice. Brittany also has strong knowledge and understanding of our wood and gas heating products operating on display in our showroom.


Donal Grant
Donal GrantProjects Manager
With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry Donal has built up a considerable skill base. The large number of differing projects he has worked on has exposed him to a variety of construction methods. Donal manages the Turfrey Roofing projects and team in the Waikato region. Donal is a keen barefoot/minimal runner and has recently completed the Buller Half Marathon. He also has a strong interest in the outdoors and tramping.

Tony Hadley

Tony is a competent, successful technician with 17 years experience in the gas industry, focused primarily on gas heating systems and appliances. As part of the Turfrey team Tony combines his extensive technical knowledge with a passion for advising and assisting others. Tony enjoys getting out mountain biking, keeping fit and has a passion for Rugby.

Leonie O'Loughlin

Leonie supports the Roofing team in the Waikato region with scheduling, documentation, sourcing of materials, and overall staff and customer support for all contract works. Leonie has many years of experience in customer service, administration, reception and accounts. Through being the owner of a water tank cleaning business, Leonie also has good general knowledge of plumbing, drainage and water systems.

Tash supports the Plumbing, Gas, Heating and Drainage teams in the Waikato region with scheduling, documentation, sourcing of materials, and overall staff and customer support for all contract works. Tash brings to Turfrey strong admin, customer service and construction trade knowledge.

Nicky assists clients with all technical advice and sales support for our range of products and services we offer. Nicky joined Turfrey in 2017 with previous experience in Operations Management, Retail, Administration and other industry roles. Nicky enjoys a working environment that provides a variety of challenges and her vibrant personality is an asset to our team and customers.

Trish has strong knowledge and experience looking after Plumbing, Roofing and Heating trades in the Wellington area. Trish keeps the engine running smoothly in the Turfrey Wellington region and ensures the team are organised and up to date in order to deliver for our clients.

Richard Meakin BSc(QS)(Hons) MRICSSenior Quantity Surveyor
Richard Meakin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with core skills in measurement, analysis and administration. He is a dedicated professional, having achieved chartered status early in his career. He has acted as secretary for a MATRICS (young members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) group in Scotland.

Victoria Oakman-Johnson
Victoria Oakman-JohnsonEstimator
Vicky has been with Turfrey since 2014, working in admin, accounts payable, estimating and job costing roles. This experience has given Vicky a large amount of knowledge around products, costing, construction processes and labour quantities. Vicky now works full time in our Commercial Estimating Department and works closely with Rich and his team to tender and negotiate commercial projects across the North Island for our services.

Sonja Klos

Sonja has over 10 years experience in the construction industry. In her time at Turfrey Sonja has developed robust systems and processes to ensure the administration is run smoothly and communication flows throughout the team and to our customers. Sonja and her admin team carry out centralised admin for all 4 Turfrey branches ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Rachael Caddy
Rachael CaddyAssistant Accountant
Rachael has more than 10 years commercial experience in accounts and business administration including implementation of new systems and processes for previous companies. Rachael takes control of all Turfrey accounts payable functions including referencing supplier invoices to jobs, supplier quotes and estimates, importing the large volume of invoices into our system, processing supplier credits and returns, and approving supplier statements. Rachael’s strong attention to detail and proficiency ensures this vital part of the business runs efficiently and up to the minute.

Ash Zachan IGC OHS
Ash Zachan IGC OHSHealth & Safety
Ash has extensive experience in Health and Safety management and practical implementation primarily in the construction sector. He has holds the Nebosh IGC OSH qualification and has completed numerous health and safety courses. Ash’s career has included being a NZ Police Officer, Commerical Manager for a large NZ construction company. He has advised many larger organisations on their Health and Safety requirements.

Courtney Lynch

Courtney runs the Turfrey E-Commerce division including the Turfrey Online Store and Turfrey Trademe Store as well as a large volume of nationwide phone and email sales and repeat business. Courtney is a customer service superstar who will go above and beyond to ensure our clients not only have the best product, but have an amazing Turfrey experience. Nicole brings strong knowledge and experience from the construction and trades industry to her role here on the Turfrey team. Nicole looks after all general enquiries via the Turfrey contact page and carries out important admin, fleet and processing functions to keep the company running smoothly.

Paul joined Turfrey in 2013 and helped develop the roofing division from it’s inception. Paul has a wealth of knowledge and expertise with all types of roofing and cladding systems and the installation process involved.
